Wooden: Ideas Worth Sharing

I’ve been a big fan of TED for quite some time. Here’s a *great* one from the greastest one, Coach John Wooden, where he “shares the advice he gave his players at UCLA, quotes poetry and remembers his father’s wisdom.”

A couple of quotes from Coach Wooden from the TEDtalk:

  • “Success is peace of mind attained only through self-satisfaction in knowing that you made the effort to do the best of which you are capable.”
  • “Your reputation is what your perceived to be, your character is what you are.”
  • “Never mention winning. You can lose when you outscore somebody in the game. You can win when you’re outscored… Truly believe things will work out as they should, providing [you] do what [you] should… The result will not be what you want them to be, but what they should be.”

And, if you liked the poem by George Moriarty, the ROAD AHEAD or the ROAD BEHIND, I found it at this blog.
