“We think to small, like the frog at the bottom of the well. He thinks the sky is only as big as the tip of well. If he surfaced, he would have an entirely different view.”
—The Athlete’s Way, Sweat and the Biology of Bliss (by Christopher Bergland)
Although progress is being made this quote still resonates true.
The past few months have been an emergence of sorts – for me – to an entirely different view. The aperture on ‘my lens’ has been opened. I’ve surfaced and am wielding a ‘wider angle lens of thought and vision’ for how things can be.
It’s amazing what you can see went you change your perspective.
The risk has been well worth it because of the reward. I’m wondering now, what else is beyond the horizon? The skies. The stars. So much to learn. So much, still to be exposed to. There’s a whole world out there beyond the edges of our ‘well’.
Come to the surface, join me, and let’s explore together — coaching creatively in an athlete centered way. There’s a whole world of fantastic coaching insights to soak up!
